Announcement of 3d/CGL Partnership (8/29/2020)

Common Goal Families:

First off, thank you for helping us navigate what was unquestionably the most challenging summer that we have ever faced as a lacrosse program. Finding ourselves in uncharted territory due to the COVID-19 pandemic, like many in the industry, we were forced to make decisions we felt and still believe were in the best interests of our athletes.

As we analyzed the unpredictable and rapidly changing nature of the club lacrosse landscape during a season derailed by unthinkable predicaments, we realized that we need to take Common Goal Lacrosse to the next level in order to better serve our athletes and our families. We are proud to have made a major impact on the lives of many girls through this incredible sport. But to continue meeting the needs of today’s lacrosse player, we must evolve.

So after nearly eight years of operating as a non-profit club, Common Goal will be joining forces with 3d Lacrosse, the nation’s leading provider of lacrosse training and development services. Becoming a part of 3d will provide our program with a more national platform, organizational infrastructure and an injection of enhanced coaching resources and opportunities for players.

Headquartered in Denver, the company runs Rochester-based 3d Upstate, a program that has in just a few years’ time become a leading club in our region and one that demonstrates operational excellence. 3d Lacrosse combines only with clubs that share like-minded philosophies on player development and training and that are guided by similar ideals.

Now a part of 3STEP Sports, 3d Lacrosse runs club programs in more than a dozen other regions nationwide and additionally operates some of the most popular events and showcases in the game, including the STX Rising Girls Showcase and the Fall Florida Training Combine. Our teams will compete as 3d Common Goal and our athletes will be plugged into a network of more than 1,200 players training in the 3d network, benefitting from new opportunities to compete and be recruited.

After getting to know the leaders and coaches at 3d, Common Goal leadership decided that this move is in the best interest of our athletes and their families, our teams, our coaches and the brand that has become dear to us. We are thrilled to team up with a group of people who value development and aim to help each individual lacrosse player along the best possible path.

Kristin (Concordia) Paolini will lead the charge as the new Manager of the 3d-powered 3d Common Goal program. A native of Rochester, Kristin has been with our program since its inception and has been head coach at Roberts Wesleyan College since 2015. She will ensure that your daughters get every possible chance to improve their skills and compete.

Pete Bell will continue in his role as the Coaching Director for 3d Common Goal, and all current CGL board members will be working with 3d Lacrosse during this transition and are available to answer any questions or concerns.

Thank you all for your continued support and loyalty to Common Goal Lacrosse. We are excited to see what the future holds!
